Are you from a farming back ground? And what is the history of your last name? thanks

Yes I was born and raised on a farm in Central Alberta. My father's family came over from Norway in the early 1900's and that is where the name came from.

I am glad to see we are starting a revitalization of Westbank Town Center. How long will the first phase take and what is planned in it?

Thank you for the question. Revitalization of Westbank Center is an important part of our economic development plan. Council has approved a quick start program for this fall which is now underway and will see a street clean-up blitz, a winter banner program, festive lighting improvements and improved landscaping around the Westbank Irrigation property. We are also planning a Streetscape Improvement which will be done to the standards of the Westbank Centre Revitalization Plan adopted by Council on August 16, 2011, likely on Elliot Road and Main Street.

I am pleased to report as well that Council recently approved a Development Permit for a new townhouse development north of The Heritage which is expected to start construction shortly. There are many more initiatives to be moved forward in the next year; for complete details please see the Revitalization Plan on the districtofwestkelowna.ca website.

Duane, there are two businesses in West Kelowna that should not be here: Hemp City and Mary Janes. We cannot solve every problem, we can't stand in the way of every bad choice, but granting business licenses to businesses that openly promote drug usage seems like a very poor decision for a community that wants to be outstanding in helping young people and families flourish. I want to know your stand on this and what you are personally willing to do to say "no" to businesses like these. Teresa

We need to take another look at our business licensing requirements to make sure we are doing all we can to safeguard the safety of our District and our quality of life.

As Council has at its meeting- Nov. 8-put Casa Loma-STORM WATER damage, on its priority list- what will you do to enhance infrastrucure improvements. so that we here on ------ Rd will not suffer severe water damage to our basement (3 times previous to the the Storm Aug. 10th). e

We have asked District staff to come back to Council with a prioritized list of drainage improvements in your area. I strongly support establishment of a Drainage Utility in the District so that we can address these and other issues around our community as quickly as possible.
